A gentle, drill-free procedure is now available at 22 Wimpole Street. Air abrasion makes it possible to treat many cavities quickly and effectively without anaesthesia and without using a drill.
The air abrasion system produces a gentle air stream of microabrasive particles delivered through a small handpiece that quickly and gently removes decay without the handpiece actually making contact with the tooth. This allows more healthy tooth structure to be conserved and decay may be treated at its earliest stages. |

| With this system, the uncomfortable vibrations, friction and heat of the dental drill are eliminated. Since there is no heat or direct contact to aggravate sensitive nerves, very seldom is it necessary to have an injection to numb the tooth. And because air abrasion is so gentle on the tooth enamel, the possibility of microfracturing or chipping is also eliminated. |
